Heritage Golf Group, the fastest-growing owner and operator of golf and country clubs in the United States, has announced the acquisition of three premier private clubs in Florida from MG Orender, managing partner of the three properties.
With these additions, Heritage’s portfolio now includes 46 clubs nationwide, including 12 throughout Florida. The three newly acquired properties—The Plantation Golf & Country Club, Country Club of Ocala and The Palencia Club—strengthen Heritage’s footprint across the state and reflect the company’s continued growth strategy in key golf and lifestyle markets.
“We wanted to ensure each of these clubs was positioned for long-term success, and after a meticulous search, we are excited to have selected Heritage Golf Group as the ideal fit,” said MG Orender, managing partner of the three properties. “Heritage has an outstanding reputation for reinvesting in its clubs and supporting on-site teams. We’re confident their leadership, experience, and commitment to private club excellence will continue to elevate the member and employee experience at these outstanding properties.”
The three Florida clubs each bring distinctive amenities and character to the Heritage portfolio:
The Plantation Golf & Country Club (Fort Myers, FL) features an 18-hole championship golf course designed by the award-winning team of Dr. Michael Hurdzan, ASGCA, and Dana Fry, ASGCA. The clubhouse, known as The Great House, offers expansive dining options, a large practice facility, and popular event spaces for members and guests.
Country Club of Ocala (Ocala, FL) is a full-service private club home to an acclaimed 18-hole championship course designed by Steve Nugent. The course’s rolling terrain, lined with oaks and hardwoods, provides a unique Central Florida golf experience. Additional amenities include seven tennis courts (five hydro clay and two hard), pickleball, an Olympic-sized pool, and a full-service fitness center.
The Palencia Club (St. Augustine, FL)features an 18-hole Arthur Hills–designed championship course and a three-story, 33,000-square-foot clubhouse with panoramic views, multiple dining venues offering both casual and fine dining experiences, and spaces for member events, banquets, and special occasions.
“The addition of these three dynamic clubs marks an exciting milestone in Heritage’s continued growth,” said Mark Burnett, CEO of Heritage Golf Group. “Each property, while unique, reflects the core qualities of our portfolio, exceptional golf and vibrant member experiences. It has been a privilege to work collaboratively with MG and Hampton Golf throughout this smooth transition, and we look forward to building upon the strong foundation they’ve established at these clubs.”
Early capital improvement plans are in discussion and will be guided by member and team feedback to ensure enhancements align with each club’s unique culture and priorities.
The Heritage team, with extensive proficiency in private and public golf club operations, continues to elevate the member experience through transforming and improving amenities, operations, and programming at acquired clubs. The expanding network further enhances the value of Heritage Golf Group membership through the Heritage Plus Network, a reciprocal travel benefit that affords golf members access to other participating Heritage clubs across the country.
