Motocaddy Expands U.S. Presence with Two Collegiate Golf Coaching Associations

Motocaddy, the world’s leading electric caddy brand, has announced new partnerships with two major collegiate golf coaching organizations: the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) representing men’s golf coaches, and the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Through these partnerships, Motocaddy will share information with collegiate coaches, players, and governing bodies on the significant health and performance benefits of using electric caddies. In turn, the company hopes to learn more about where electric caddies – and the Motocaddy brand, in particular – fit into the collegiate golf landscape now and in the future.

“Motocaddy is thrilled to partner with the GCAA and WGCA as we continue to expand our presence in North America,” says John Helas, CEO of Motocaddy. “We recognize the influential voice collegiate coaches and players have in the U.S. golf ecosystem, and these partnerships will allow Motocaddy to further spread our vision for electric caddies to a wider audience."

The partnerships will include Motocaddy’s attendance at both associations’ national conferences in Las Vegas in December, as well as ongoing marketing to their memberships and continued coordination with the associations on how to educate their members on the benefits of electric caddies.

Established in 1958, the GCAA’s mission is to support member coaches from six divisions – including the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA – with educational opportunities and resources that enhance their overall performance as coaches, mentors, and teachers. The GCAA also recognizes the excellence and achievements of its members and their student-athletes in academic, athletic, and civic endeavors.

“The GCAA is excited to partner with Motocaddy,” says CEO Dustin Roberts. “Between their electric caddy and push cart lines, Motocaddy will help our member coaches and their programs to reduce physical strain, conserve energy, and maintain focus while in qualifying or competition.”

The WGCA, which was founded in 1983, strives to give coaches ofwomen’s golf a deeper sense of responsibility for the promotion, development, maintenance, and conduct of competitive golf for women. Today, the association represents over 750 coaches of Division I, II & III, NAIA, and NJCAA collegiate programs.

WCGA CEO Courtney Trimble pointed to her organization’s common goals with Motocaddy, saying, “They care about elevating the golfer’s experience just as much as our coaches care about supporting their student-athletes, and that shared mindset makes this a great fit.  Motocaddy continues to bring smart, innovative products to the game, and we’re looking forward to the value this partnership will bring to our coaching community.”

Motocaddy has appointed Todd Ohlmeyer, one of the company’s 17 independent U.S.-based sales reps, to oversee sales for these partnerships. Ohlmeyer, who covers the Southern Texas region for Motocaddy, is familiar with the college landscape, having served as the Associate Head Coach for men’s and women’s golf at Coastal Carolina University in 2008 and then spending the next decade as the Men’s Golf Coach at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. He also served as NCAA Men’s Golf Committee Chair for the 2015-2016 season and Heartland Conference Golf Chair from 2011 to 2015.

“I think it will be a great partnership because the vision and mission of the GCAA and WGCA has always been to enhance the overall performance of college coaches, which equates to an improvement in the college game and the experience student athletes have during their time on campus,” Ohlmeyer says. “From a Motocaddy perspective, one of their goals is to improve the everyday golfer's experience by providing an option that is more enjoyable and alleviates stress on the body. If Motocaddy can help college players do the same during the days leading up to an event or at an event, they are helping the game and serving the mission.”

Recognized globally for its innovation and award-winning designs, Motocaddy continues to lead the charge in making walking golf more accessible and enjoyable.

The company has reported significant growth in the U.S. market, achieving a 40% increase in retail accounts year-to-date. With more golfers seeking ways to stay active and enhance on-course performance, Motocaddy’s range of powered trolleys has resonated strongly across the U.S. market – with the sales force covering 48 of 50 states – and increased revenue for retailers.
