After earning Low Amateur honors at the Open Championship at Royal St. George’s earlier this year, where he finished with a second-round 65 to tie the lowest round by an amateur.

During his amateur career, Schmid amassed tremendous success including back-to-back wins at the European Amateur in 2019 and 2020. While on the men’s golf team at the University of Louisville from 2017-2021, Schmid led the team in scoring average, collected multiple top-5 and top-10 finishes, and won the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational in 2018.
