Streamsong Golf Resort Releases Routing and Logo on New Chain Course

Streamsong Golf Resort announced today the name, routing and new logo for the fourth golf course slated to join the award-winning golf offerings at the world-renowned destination. The newly released layout by the legendary design team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw (Coore & Crenshaw Design) shows six- and 12-hole loops, with the first tees a short walking distance from the Lodge at Streamsong.

The Chain, as the course is being dubbed, gets its name from the remnants of a piece of mining equipment used to hold a dragline bucket in place that was discovered on the site during the routing process. The Mosaic Company, which owns Streamsong, mined the 16,000-acre site for phosphate ore for decades, leading to the incredible sand formations that make the topography at this location unique. Special edition merchandise featuring The Chain logo will be available online and on site at Streamsong beginning in August.

Fitzpatrick Wins 2022 U.S. Open for Historic Double at The Country Club

Matt Fitzpatrick is a champion once again at The Country Club.

The 27-year-old Englishman who triumphed nine years ago at this iconic venue when he claimed the U.S. Amateur, became just the 13th man and the first non-American to also add the U.S. Open Championship to his portfolio.

Mitsubishi Golf Wins U.S. Open in Dominating Fashion

It's common in the golf industry for companies to say they won this tournament or that tournament when the player uses its clubs.  Sometimes it can only be one club.  And other times still that club was not really instrumental in the win.

When Matt Fitzpatrick won the US Open earlier today at The Country Club however, Mitsubishi Golf shafts played an absolutely crucial role in his breakout major championship victory.

Zalatoris, Fitzpatrick Share 54-Hole Lead at The Country Club

If championship Sunday in the 122nd U.S. Open can match the high drama of Round 3 on Saturday at The Country Club, fans are in for a wild ride. The way the lead kept flipping, one almost felt sorry for the folks manning the leader boards.

By the end of a turbulent and challenging day when temperatures dropped into the 60s, winds gusted in the mid-20s and red numbers were replaced by red faces, two players seeking their first major championship – and a bit of history – led the way.

Morikawa, Qualifier Dahmen Share 36-Hole Lead at TCC

For Collin Morikawa, the last couple of months have been a search to regain the form that led to a pair of major titles. His five starts since a solo fifth at the Masters in April have resulted in no better than a tie for 26th. That stretch includes a missed cut at the Memorial Tournament and a T-55 in last month’s PGA Championship.

Those aren’t results that people are accustomed to seeing from the world No. 7.

2022 U.S. Open Championship: Ten Stats to Know From Round 1

Thirty-four years after it last hosted this championship, The Country Club in Brookline acquitted itself nicely on Thursday, yielding a mostly-tight-bunched set of scores in round one. After 18 holes, exactly half of the field (78 players) are at or within six shots of the lead. Six shots is how many Brooks Koepka was trailing by after round one when he won at Shinnecock just four years ago.

That’s to say, we’re just getting started.

Hadwin First-Round Leader With 66 at Brookline

Round 1 of a U.S. Open has a tendency to send observers to bio pages or Google. While there might be an occasional big name at the top of the leader board, the opening round is known for its surprises, and the 122nd championship that began Thursday at The Country Club followed that script.

How about an alternate leading the field? Adam Hadwin certainly is known in golf circles – he owns 12 professional wins, including one on the PGA Tour. But the 34-year-old Canadian, the first alternate from the Dallas final qualifier, wasn’t even in the field until Paul Casey withdrew on Monday.

EDEL Golf Launches New SMS (Swing Matching System) Irons

Edel Golf is announcing the introduction of a game-changing technology in irons. The new SMS (Swing Match System) Irons are unlike any irons on the market. The adjustable Swing Match Weighting brings a level of customization to irons that hasn’t been seen in golf.

By moving the heaviest of the three weights to the ideal position for the golfer’s swing, it enables total clubface control. That can mean eliminating your miss right or left, improving face impact position, more distance, more accuracy, and optimized performance all around. Golfers have long been able to adjust their driver to their swing to customize and maximize their performance. The Edel SMS Irons do just that and the results are shockingly good.

On the PGA Tour at the RBC Canadian Open, VENTUS claimed another driver shaft win with the eventual winner choosing to play VENTUS in all his woods. Capturing the title as the #1 player with strokes gained from tee to green, the winner used a VENTUS Black 6X in his driver, VENTUS Black 8X in his fairway wood and VENTUS Black 9X in his five wood. This win is the 19th driver shaft victory for Fujikura on the PGA Tour.
