USGA Accepts More Than 10,000 Entries for Third Time in U.S. Open History

Defending champion Wyndham Clark, and all the Official World Golf Ranking® top 50, are among the 10,052 entries that have been accepted by the United States Golf Association (USGA) for the 124th U.S. Open Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club (Course No. 2), in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. The U.S. Open will be held at the venue for the fourth time from June 13-16.

This is the third time in championship history that the number of entries has exceeded 10,000. The record was established last year when 10,187 entries were accepted for the championship at The Los Angeles (Calif.) Country Club. In 2014, 10,127 entered to play in the 2014 U.S Open at Pinehurst No. 2. This year, entries were accepted from golfers in all 50 states, including 381 from host state North Carolina, as well as Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia and 70 foreign countries.

Victories for Fujikura Ventus on the PGA and LPGA Tour

Fujikura, the leader in performance golf shafts, was honored to be the #1 driver and wood shaft for both PGA Tour events last week, along with the #1 driver shaft spot at the first LPGA Tour Major of the season. In total, all three winners at these events used a Fujikura driver and/or wood shaft on their way to victory.

At the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour, Fujikura dominated the field as the #1 driver and wood shaft. In total, 43.5% of the field used a Fujikura driver shaft during the week, with another 37.6% using a Fujikura wood shaft.

2024 Play With Pete Invitational at The Olympic Club - How to Sign Up and All the Details

The Olympic Club in San Francisco, California is the oldest athletic club in the United States.  It's prestigious championship history includes five U.S. Opens, a U.S. Women's Open, three U.S. Amateurs, a U.S. Junior Amateur, and a Ryder Cup.  And the distinctive course architecture of the Lake Course encapsulates and showcases the Golden Age of early American golf.

Callaway Paradym Driver Review - 2023 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway Winner Guest Review

The Callaway Golf Paradym drivers had a dominating 2023.  It won three majors, was Number 1 in worldwide victories, and the best selling driver of 2023.  When I played the Paradym Triple Diamond I had some of my best driving days of the year with this beast in the bag.

So of course the Paradym was going to be in my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway.  And the winner of this driver says it has "won a place in [my] bag" with "10-15 more yards" than his gamer and "far more forgiveness."

Aerotech SteelFiber Private Reserve Shafts Review - 2023 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway Winner Guest Review

You already know how much I love my Aerotech SteeFiber Private Reserve shafts.  It seems like whenever I'm fit for irons these are one of let's say three different shafts that always seem to work best for me.

LIV Golf Announces New Hires

LIV Golf today announced that David Phillipps has been named Chief Financial Officer; Ross Hallett has been named EVP, Head of Events; Katie O’Reilly has been named EVP, Head of Team Business Operations; Tim Taylor has been appointed to a new EVP role and will also lead LIV Golf’s London office; and Pam Sacree has been named Head of Human Resources.

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort to Host 2031 PGA Championship

The PGA of America announced today that The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, will host the 2031 PGA Championship. Additionally, the 2029 Girls and Boys Junior PGA Championships will be contested at The Ocean Course and Turtle Point Golf Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

The 113th PGA Championship, scheduled for May 2031, marks the third time the strongest field in golf will compete for the Wanamaker Trophy along South Carolina’s coast.

Victory for Fujikura Ventus in Augusta
