California has long been a hot bed for creativity in design. Down the southern coast is Carlsbad, home of Odyssey Golf and the Mecca for golf club designers. To pay homage to their hometown, Odyssey has developed a line of putters dedicated to one of the most recognizable landmarks ever in California, U.S. Highway 101.
The aesthetic design is a tribute to the 101, and the technology pays off Odyssey’s heritage of continuous innovation. The key highlight is Odyssey's latest insert technology called the Sound Chamber.
The Highway 101 will be available in three unique head options. The #2 is a slightly larger heel-toe blade with crank-neck hosel. The #5 is a half moon mallet with single-bend, slant-joint hosel. And the #7 is a progressive mallet with weighted alignment wings and a single-bend, slant-joint hosel.
Featuring a satin chrome finish and 350g headweight, all putters are precision milled with a 1020 carbon steel body and 17-4 stainless steel insert with the Sound Chamber inside.
There will only be 1,000 Highway 101 putters sold in the United States. 400 #2 and #7 models, and 200 #5, which will be available on May 27 for $399.99 each. They will each come with a red Cabretta leather, midsize grip and Highway 101-themed headcover.
