Renowned Golf Course Architect Bobby Weed Golf Design Announces Expansion

Renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed Golf Design is expanding its team with the addition of design associate Joseph K. Graziani.  The hiring of Graziani ensures Bobby Weed Designs will remain well-positioned to handle its growing project base, with a specialization in design, renovation, and repurposing.

Bobby Weed designs feature a balance of visual appeal, sustainability, and playability, all informed by an environmentally-sensitive aesthetic and an exceptional hands-on, holistic approach.  Some of Weed's original designs include Olde Farm Golf Club in Bristol, Va., the Dye Valley course at TPC Sawgrass, and a number of other TPC facilities, including TPC Summerlin, TPC Las Vegas and TPC River Highlands.

Bobby Weed said,
"Pete Dye taught me that the next generation offers a fresh perspective that can enhance your work, and I was fortunate to be one of those guys with him.  We have been looking for the right person to help with some great projects we have coming on-line, and are very excited to have found Joey."
Graziani will join the design firm at the end of May, after completing his studies at Louisiana State University, where he will graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture with a minor in Horticulture.  Graziani's experience includes greenkeeping work at his home course, Beau Chene Country Club, in Mandeville, La., golf course construction work with Duininck Golf Construction, and an internship with Bobby Weed Golf Design last year.

Graziani said,
"What I value most about the Bobby Weed design process is the hands-on, in the field approach, getting your hands dirty, building great golf and having fun while you do it.  I'm ecstatic to have the opportunity to bring my best to the team."
Bobby Weed began his career with an extended apprenticeship under Pete Dye, leading to a nearly 40-year relationship that continues today.  Weed was hired by the PGA Tour in 1983, where he served as the Tour's in-house designer from 1987-1996, helping establish the nationwide TPC Network.  Weed also is the co-founder of the non-profit HEAL (Helping Enrich Autistic Lives), a charitable organization serving the five-county area around his home in north Florida.

Senior Design Associate Chris Monti, a Cornell University graduate, spent a year examining the courses of the British Isles.  Since 1997, Monti has contributed his unique perspective to Bobby Weed Golf Design, managing nationally prominent new course, renovation and restoration projects across the country.

Founded in 1994, Bobby Weed Golf Design specializes in contemporary, progressive golf course design, and utilizes a forward thinking, hands on approach for new golf courses, comprehensive renovations and repurposing projects.

Today, Bobby Weed Golf Design has amassed an impressive list of new and renovated courses that consistently are ranked at the top of their respective categories, including The Olde Farm Golf Club, Spanish Oaks Golf Club, The Golf Course at Glen Mills, Medalist Golf Club and Timuquana Country Club.  Bobby Weed was also recently selected to redesign the South Course at Quail Ridge Country Club.
