In the fifth event played on the 2022 PGA TOUR Champions, Tour Edge claimed their 2nd 1-2 finish of the season Sunday at the Rapiscan System Classic in Biloxi, Miss.
The winner of the event was playing a 22-degree Exotics C721 Hybrid with an Aldila NV 85 shaft for a dominant 6-shot victory.
He set a new course and tournament record Saturday at Grand Bear Golf Club with a 10-under par 62 and set the new tournament record at 18-under par.
The 50-year-old New Zealander who has been on fire on the PGA TOUR Champions since playing his way into full status since joining midway through last season.
He earned his first start with a Monday qualifier and then posted six consecutive Top 10 finishes. He followed that up with a victory, a runner-up and 4th place finish in the three playoff events to end a spectacular run.
He's been playing the award-wining Exotics C721 hybrid since September of 2021.
The victory is the 16th for Tour Edge clubs in play since they started working full-time with Champions tour players in 2018.
Tour Edge staff player Alex Cejka shot a 66 Saturday and a 67 Sunday to finish with a T2 finish, his best finish of the young season so far.
Cejka signed on with Tour Edge at the beginning of the 2022 season after winning two straight Major Championships on the Champions in 2021.
He is currently playing the new Exotics C722 3-wood (15-degree with a House of Forged shaft) and 17-degree C722 Hybrid with an OBAN Devotion 8 shaft.
Tour Edge has now been a part of 16 victories and 26 runner-up finishes on the PGA TOUR Champions since 2018 for a total of 42 1st and 2nd place finishes in the last 87 Champions events played (48%).
Sixteen different players (20% of the field) were playing 49 Tour Edge clubs (5 drivers, 18 fairway and hybrids, 7 utility irons, 3 iron sets and 5 wedges) at the Rapiscan System Classic.
Tour Edge has seen 2,574 clubs in play by 138 different PGA Tour professionals on the three PGA Tours over the last four seasons. In that time, the company has earned 17 wins, 94 Top 5’s and 218 Top 10 finishes.
