Srixon Staffer Jerry Kelly Claims Victory at SAS Championship

Jerry Kelly, a longtime member of the Srixon team, emerged victorious at the SAS Championship on Sunday, securing his first victory of the year and first in two years. With this win, Kelly now has 12 PGA TOUR Champions victories under his belt.

Battling a wrist injury and rheumatoid arthritis throughout the year, Kelly was able to break through and win with a closing 5-under 67 to capture the SAS Championship by one stroke and finish at 13-under 203.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Kelly said. “You wonder if you’re ever going to do it again when the injuries start piling up.”

Using a combination of Srixon ZX7 Mk II Irons and the Z-STAR XV golf ball, Kelly worked his way around Prestonwood Country Club with precision. He hit 79% of greens in regulation placing him in the top three in this category for the week and ranks in the top 10 for the season.

As the Charles Schwab Cup is set to begin, Kelly’s win moves him into the ninth position, setting himself up to make a run to close out the season.
