Original Penguin®, a division of Perry Ellis International, Inc., proudly congratulates brand ambassador Brian Campbell on securing his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld. After 187 TOUR-sanctioned starts, Campbell’s perseverance and dedication to the game paid off with his breakthrough win.
Campbell showcased both skill and resilience throughout the tournament, sealing his victory with a thrilling birdie on the second playoff hole. The victory not only marks a career milestone for the 31-year-old but also highlights the synergy between his game and the performance-focused apparel that Original Penguin provides.
“Brian’s determination and hard work embodies the spirit of Original Penguin, and we couldn’t be more proud to have him represent our brand,” said Brad Holder, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Perry Ellis International. “His victory at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld is a testament to his perseverance, and we look forward to seeing him continue to succeed on the PGA TOUR.”
With the win, Campbell, who was the low amateur at the 2015 U.S. Open, jumps up to thirteenth in the FedExCup standings. The victory also secures Campbell a spot in the 2025 Masters, PGA Championship, THE PLAYERS Championship, along with five of the Signature Events remaining on the PGA TOUR schedule.
“Winning on the PGA TOUR is a moment I’ve dreamed about for a long time,” said Campbell. “Winning my first PGA TOUR event after 187 starts is incredibly special, and I’m grateful for the support of my team, my family, and Original Penguin, whose apparel keeps me comfortable and confident on the course.”
As Campbell celebrates this career-defining victory, Original Penguin remains committed to outfitting elite golfers with innovative apparel that blends fashion with function. The brand’s signature looks, combined with modern technology, continue to support players like Campbell in achieving their best performances. This week marked Original Penguin’s second consecutive victory at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld as Brian followed in the footsteps of fellow brand ambassador Jake Knapp who earned his first PGA TOUR title at the 2024 event.
Throughout the week, Campbell wore Original Penguin’s Spring 2025 collection featuring its new Re-Originals sustainable fabrication and secured the victory in style sporting the Pete’s Tee Time Polo during Sunday’s final round.
For over 60 years, Original Penguin, and its namesake icon Pete the Penguin, has been adorned and adored by the masters of leisure and sport to define itself as an American classic. Today, the Penguin icon still stands as a signal for those who know how to be an original and what you wear for the good times.
