I get a little more launch and extra spin with Red (compared to Project X Blue) and at the same time Red are every bit as stable and precise as Blue. I love these shafts. And so of course we have to have a giveaway for a full set of Project X Red iron shafts on my X and Instagram.
The winner’s review here is right to the point. And what Project X Red does for Gates is exactly Project X Red is designed to do. Don’t make the mistake of believing higher launch and more spin is just for slower swing speed players however. It’s not. And Project X Red comes in a 120 gram 6.5 (X-Stiff) flex.
A quick note about Gates before we get to his review. Gates and I talked a lot about what flex and weight might be best for him. Eventually he went out to a fitter and hit them all before deciding on the ideal weight and flex for his game. And Gates if you’re reading this, I just want to say I respect your dedication to your game. AGNB baby!
So here’s Gates’ review in his own words. And Project X Red literally and immediately improved his already very strong iron game.
Hi Pete, I’ve been meaning to text THANKS for the Project X Red shafts I won in July. I play P790s and bought another set of heads to put them in.
My current sent is great (thank you Club Champion), but I got them 7 years ago when I turned 50. My game has changed since then.
The Project X Reds seem to be a great fit. With my existing set, I had started hitting the ball a little low.
The Reds advertise help hitting it higher, and I saw it immediately. On a launch monitor, they seem to be 10-15% higher. They carry farther than my existing set and stop faster. No more long run outs.
As a low single digit, this is going to be a big help. I love them!
There you have it. Project X Red for the win for Gates. And I’m thrilled you like them so much Gates!
As always, anytime any of you win something from me and want to write a review just let me know. It's always great to read about your unique experiences. And cheers to better golf and having more fun for us all!
Have heard good things about the PX Red glad these went to someone who really needed them!
