Georgia Glory: Fujikura Makes it Five Major Championship Victories in a Row

Fujikura’s ‘Big Game’ pedigree continued after the Champion of the first Major of the season made it five successive victories for the brand in the sport’s biggest tournaments.

It was another statement of dominance for the global leader in performance golf shaft innovation. Last year, Fujikura made history as the first specialist driver shaft brand to have been in the winner’s bag at all four Major Championships.

That record has now been stretched with the winner in Augusta trusting the flagship VENTUS to help conquer one of the toughest courses in the game - where a premium is placed on driving the ball well - to make it back-to-back wins in the Georgia showpiece for Fujikura.

Powered by the consistency of VENTUS, the Champion’s long game proved a crucial weapon, especially during the final round surrounded by a world-class field with the pressure mounting. The victory was achieved with the winner using a VENTUS Black 6-X in their driver, alongside a VENTUS Black 8-X and VENTUS Black 9-X in their 3-wood and 5-wood respectively.

Eric Recher, Director of Marketing at Fujikura, said: “We are proud to have extended our Major Championship winning record.“It speaks volumes of the incredible innovation and technology that goes into our driver and wood shafts that so many of the world’s best players rely on the consistency of VENTUS when the pressure is at its most intense. This victory was another statement that when the pressure builds on golf’s biggest stages, VENTUS continues to be trusted by the game’s best players. Much is said of scoring on the notoriously tough greens at this iconic venue in Georgia, but there is no substitute for finding fairways and that is why we are so proud to continue our winning Major streak.”

This was also a week where Fujikura was the No.1 driver, wood and hybrid shaft, with 39.6% of the field trusting the brand in their driver shafts, and 41.2% in their wood shaft line-up. Meanwhile, 62.5% of the field used Fujikura shafts in their hybrids. Fujikura registered its first Major win in 2001, and over the last six years has become the most used driver shaft on Tour, with countless more victories across major tours around the world.

Fujikura’s 2025 Major Championship ‘Clean Sweep’ began last April, when the Champion showcased the ultimate levels of power from the tee and fairway all week long, with arguably the shot of the week coming on the first hole of the play-off; his drive splitting the fairway and helping to set up a memorable victory.

It was achieved using a VENTUS Black 6-X in the driver, while the Champion’s wood shaft line-up included VENTUS Black 8-X and VENTUS Black 9-X (3-wood and 5-wood).

In May, the World No.1 won the first of his two Major Championships of the season, which came in Charlotte, where another stellar long-game performance underpinned a runaway victory.

The same level of long-game consistency was on display two months later in Portrush, Northern Ireland, with the Champion using the same VENTUS Black 7-X in their driver to devastating effect. The winner also trusted VENTUS in their wood shafts, using a VENTUS Black 8-X in their 3-wood (Portrush and Charlotte), and VENTUS Black 9-X in their 7-wood (Charlotte). In between, the winner of the third Major Championship of the season in Pennsylvania tamed arguably the toughest layout on the Major rota. With wet weather conditions playing havoc with a congested field during the final round, there was an even greater premium on accuracy from the tee across the closing stages.

Under the most intense pressure on a brutally difficult back nine, the winner was able to close out victory using the new VENTUS Black 6-X shaft in their driver with tournament-winning birdies at the 71st and 72nd holes, which included driving the green on the 314-yard par-4 17th, undoubtedly the shot of the Championship.

Recher added: “This latest win in Georgia adds to our storied history of powering global victories across the professional tours. But we believe the innovation that goes into every product we make will ensure there is a VENTUS shaft option for every level of player throughout their woods and utility clubs. Whether you are a Tour professional competing in the heat of a Major or a weekend golfer looking to compile your best-ever round, VENTUS and Fujikura’s full line-up of shafts are designed to elevate every player’s game.”
