Volunteer Opportunities Available for 82nd U.S. Women’s Open Presented by Ally

On the heels of the trophy’s arrival to Downtown Toledo on Friday, the USGA has now opened online volunteer registration for the 82nd U.S. Women’s Open Presented by Ally. The championship will be played at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, June 3-6, 2027.

The volunteer program will be comprised of approximately 2,000 individuals who fill positions on fourteen committees including corporate hospitality, fan services, marshals, merchandise and volunteer services. Early submission of the application gives volunteers a better opportunity of being assigned to one of their committee preferences. Volunteers must commit to at least four shifts throughout the week of the championship, with each shift lasting approximately 5-6 hours. Depending on committee assignments, volunteers should be prepared to be outside and standing for extended periods of time. All volunteers will need to purchase the volunteer package for $185 upon registration, which includes Peter Millar apparel to be worn while on shift. Volunteers will also receive a volunteer credential valid for all six days of the championship, which can be used to attend as a fan on days one is not scheduled to volunteer. Weekly tickets for the championship are now available, as well as premium hospitality experiences. Daily tickets will be released later this year.

 

Inverness Club has previously hosted eight USGA championships, including four U.S. Opens, two U.S. Senior Opens, the 1973 U.S. Amateur and the 2019 U.S. Junior Amateur. The Toledo, Ohio, club first welcomed the U.S. Open in 1920, when Ted Ray captured the championship by one stroke over four players, including Harry Vardon. Billy Burke (1931) and Dick Mayer (1957) later claimed U.S. Open titles at Inverness in playoffs, while Hale Irwin earned the second of his three U.S. Open victories at the club in 1979. Bruce Lietzke (2003) and Olin Browne (2011) also captured U.S. Senior Open titles at Inverness.

 

The 2027 U.S. Women’s Open at Inverness Club will be the 43rd USGA championship held in the state of Ohio. The Buckeye State has hosted a rich collection of USGA championships, including seven U.S. Opens, with the 2026 U.S. Senior Open at Scioto Country Club in Columbus marking the most recent championship held in Ohio.
