LA GOLF is going to turn heads again this year with new putter models they claim are the most technologically advanced putters ever made.  I gave you a sneak peek of their new GEN 2 putters at the PGA Show.  What I didn't tell you however is these putters are going to be available at a price that's extremely competitive with other premium putters on the market.

Bernhard Langer Wins Chubb Classic and Ties All-Time PGA Tour Champions Victory Record

It was an epic weekend for Bernhard Langer and his golf equipment sponsor Tour Edge, who has been experiencing a meteoric rise on the PGA TOUR Champions over the past few seasons.

Their ageless staff player Langer won the PGA TOUR Champion’s Chubb Classic in Naples, Fla. Sunday. Langer’s 17-under par performance led him to win for the 17th straight year on the PGA TOUR Champions, setting a new mark for consecutive years with a victory.

Tesoro Club to Host Monday Qualifier for 2023 Honda Classic

Tesoro Club’s Arnold Palmer-designed golf course will be the site of the Honda Classic Open Qualifier on February 20th, 2023. The 18-hole stroke play event will bring together 120 of the area’s highest-ranked golfers for the competition, with the low four qualifiers advancing to the 2023 Honda Classic.

The qualifying event is open to the public, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. Players scheduled to compete as of February 10th include Brandon Hagy, runner-up in the 2021 Honda Classic, 2020 SFPGA Champion Tim Cantwell, and Canadian PGA Professional Ben Silverman.   With event registration ending February 17th, spectators can look forward to many more major and championship players being added to the growing lineup.

USGA Announces Qualifying Sites for 123rd U.S. Open at The Los Angeles Country Club

The United States Golf Association (USGA) has announced local and final qualifying sites for the 123rd U.S. Open Championship. The U.S. Open will be contested on The Los Angeles (Calif.) Country Club’s North Course for the first time from June 15-18, 2023.

Local qualifying, conducted over 18 holes at 109 sites in 44 U.S. states and Canada, will take place between April 17-May 22. Those players who advance out of local qualifying will join a group of locally exempt players in final qualifying, which will be conducted over 36 holes. The final stage will be held in England (May 16), Japan (May 22) and Canada (June 5) as well as 10 U.S. sites, one on May 22 and nine on June 5.

Chubb Classic Presented by SERVPRO Announces World Class 2023 Tournament Field

Entries are closed for the 2023 Chubb Classic presented by SERVPRO, with former World No. 1 and World Golf Hall-of-Famer Fred Couples headlining the tournament’s latest commitments, joining an elite field that includes Hall-of-Famers, major champions and legends of the game. Taking place Feb. 17-19 at Tiburón Golf Club’s Black Course, the Chubb Classic is Naples’ flagship PGA TOUR Champions event, now entering its 36th year.

Joining Couples as final commitments in the field include sponsor exemptions Glen Day, Gary Hallberg, David Johnson, Michael Muehr and Dicky Pride. 2020 European Ryder Cup captain Padraig Harrington and PGA TOUR winner Brad Faxon were announced earlier Friday into the field. Aon Risk Reward Challenge at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club

The 10th hole at Riviera is one of the most acclaimed short par 4s in all of golf. As more players have decided to go for this green, wind coming from the left has become a valuable defense.

When the wind comes from the left side, players go for the putting surface 12 percent less often. If the wind is coming from the opposite side (right to left), players have decided to go for it 71% of the time, with an up and down from the left side much easier than the bunkers on the right.

Landmark Win for Kanaya at International Series Oman

Japan’s Takumi Kanaya secured a convincing victory in the US$2 million International Series Oman today to record his first professional victory outside of Japan and suggest that the gifted young golfer is coming of age.

The 24-year-old from Hiroshima shot a final round one-under-par 71 to finish on 10 under and beat American Berry Henson (70) and Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana (72) by four strokes.
