Galvin Green Aaron Gore-Tex Rain Jacket and Arthur Gore-Tex Rain Pants Review: PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway

We've all had those days on the course when the wind was so cold and the rain was so strong, that we thought to ourselves (or even said aloud), "Forget this!"

Those days however are a thing of the past, thanks to the Galvin Green Gore-Tex Aaron Rain Jacket and Gore-Tex Arthur Rain Pants.  Slip these incredibly waterproof and breathable pieces on, and you can play to your heart's content in the nastiest of conditions.

In DAY 11 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway, one of you will receive this entire amazing outfit.  You can choose your colors among those you'll see below in pictures.  Like my other Galvin Green reviews you've read here, on twitter, and on Instagram, the Aaron and Arthur run slightly on the small size. So choosing your size will depend on whether you prefer a proper fit or something more loose.

I'm going to hit on a few key highlights of the Aaron jacket and Arthur pants for you here.  And also compare these to other Galvin Green gear I've reviewed so can have another layer of perspective on what makes them different and unique.

What they all have in common however, are the finest materials, the finest workmanship, and the finest designs you will find anywhere.  The name is synonymous with unequaled quality and performance.  Galvin Green.

Ashton was Galvin Green's signature Gore-Tex rain jacket this year, but the Aaron jacket could just as easily be the staple piece in anyone's closet.  And in some respects (depending on your preference), Aaron is even better.

Both jackets are streamlined, lightweight, and completely waterproof.  They also do a great job reducing chilling effect.  For those frozen stiff cold days I'd still recommend an INSULA piece (even as a layer), but Aaron will keep you pretty warm in brisk and gusty conditions all by itself.

As mentioned, Aaron is completely waterproof, and like every Galvin Green Gore-Tex rain jacket I've worn (or pants for that matter), water just beads up and rolls off like it does on a newly waxed car.

Where Aaron and Ashton differ most is in fabric movement.  Ashton is more shaped, and doesn't stretch.  While Aaron uses a flexible fabric and even has a lightweight mesh lining.  In my opinion Aaron is a more traditional rain jacket.

What I also really like about Aaron (and what Ashton doesn't have) is adjustable chest and cuff features, two front pockets, and two inner chest pockets.  Aaron probably has more pockets than any jacket in the Galvin Green line, and call I really like that convenience.

Now let's get into the Arthur pants a bit and bring this home.  The Arthur Gore-Tex rain pants are again completely waterproof and extremely breathable.  And honestly I haven't worn any Galvin Green Gore-Tex jackets or rain pants that didn't didn't perform perfectly in the wet stuff.

Arthur is also a flexible material (unlike the Andy pants for example, which I'd call more structured).  However, Arthur's elastic waist and drawstring (along with an adjustable leg width) make these pants as fitted or as loose as you want.

And like every Galvin Green rain pant I've ever worn, the two front pockets are fleece lined, which feels good and helps warm up your hands.

Arthur also uses Galvin Green's Paclite technology.  I've talked about this really cool tech though the year, but will say again here that you will not find a lighter Gore-Tex material anywhere.  Simple as that.  And if superlite fabric is your thing, these will become your favorite rain pants.  Maybe ever.
