The new Cuater Wildcard (leather) pretty much have everything you’d want in a spikeless, sneaker style golf shoe.
The low profile fit makes you feel extremely connected to the ground. And a thick cushion in the footbed is soft enough for fantastic, all-round comfort but also firm enough to feel very stable.
By comparison, you also have a lighter, more cushioned sensation all around your entire foot than with the non-leather Cuater Wildcard.
The outsole may appear ordinary but it’s one of the best features of the Wildcard shoes, and one of the best spikeless designs for traction I’ve worn to date.
You can clearly feel them really grab into turf (like the sensation of when you’re digging in/dug in deep in a bunker (it’s almost suction like). The lugs are slightly flexible, which allows them to really settle in on a variety of surfaces and lies.
These felt slightly more snug in the toe box when I first put them on (and honestly thought they might be too narrow at first). But before my first hole was finished they had obviously stretched to feel more comfortable in that area, matching the great overall comfort everywhere else in the shoes.
The Wildcard leather is extremely soft and waterproof. They feel more reinforced in the saddle area, yet are also light enough that if you run your hands on top of the shoe you can feel your foot (if that makes sense). It’s not a stiff leather.
And finally, you can’t tell just by looking at it, but the Cuater Wildcard low profile also allows the back and heel area to feel like it rises higher, which contributes to a more locked in feel and sensation (and also great for people with Achilles issues).
Cuater Wildcard in leather truly a fantastic spikeless, sneaker style golf shoe by just about any standard or measure.
