Titleist TSi3 Hybrid Review - A Triple Threat of Fantastic Performance

The new Titleist TSi3 hybrid is one of my favorite and best performing clubs I've hit this year.  It's compact looking at address, and convincingly delivers more iron-like precision than a larger hybrid.

Trajectory, descent, and spin are ideal to hold any green, and yet with a little ball position adjustment you can also hit this for maximum roll out to advance on longer holes.  TSi3 really is a hybrid that does everything you'd want and more.

There's a crisp but soft click sound at impact, and also a very strong feel at impact (like you're delivering a lot of mass into ball but it's not heavy feeling).  The face is also very hot, it's a long distance hybrid compared to most on the market.  In fact, you know how some hybrids you hit are like, "yeah, pretty good, or "meh," or "Wooh!"?  Well TSi3 is sorta like triple shot Jagerbomb WOOOH!!!

Turf interaction is great.  There's no digging or bouncing on any lie I've hit from.  And you're also getting pretty remarkable forgiveness around face (even though the TSi2 hybrid is designed to be more forgiving, and also help those who struggle getting the ball up to launch easier).

What stands out most is how consistent my best and mediocre shots are, and also how easy TSi3 is to flight.  My 18° is a 200 to 220 yard club (and will be a perfect long distance, control club for many swing speeds).  On all but the worst shots, distance and dispersion is steady and comparable.

TSi3 hybrid trajectory is strong and piercing, yet it still launches high enough with fantastic descent to hold greens.  And as mentioned it's pretty easy to flight higher or lower just by moving the ball a bit in your stance.  With the SureFit Track adjustability in the neutral setting, you'll see a mid-launching, lower spin ball flight.

Like with TSi3 driver, adjustability with this hybrid is absolutely fantastic, and performance differences are undeniable.  Trajectory and distance are most significantly affected when you play around with the SureFit positions.  But interestingly, descent remains similar in all settings.  So whether you tweak settings for lower or higher launch (or draw or fade bias), you're still going to see a very steep angle of descent.

Toe and heel settings changed ball flight by about 10 yards (right/left) for me in either direction.  And in the toe setting I saw the longest carry and highest trajectory.

With more weight in the heel setting the most noticeable change is a lower trajectory. I saw about 10 yards more left bias, lower flight, and a tad more distance than in the neutral position.

In the toe setting you'll get noticeably higher trajectory and even steeper decent.  I also saw slightly more right/fade bias in this position comparatively, than corresponding left/draw bias in the heel setting.  There's really some great shot-shaping adjustability at work with TSi3 SureFit Track system if you're willing to spend some time with it.  And of course you're also getting Titleist's SureFit hosel, which can optimize ball flight even more with 16 different loft and lie combinations.

The TSi3 hybrid is a triple threat with fantastic performance from the fairway, rough, and even off the tee.  You're getting incredible precision, control, and distance from just about everywhere.  I fell in love with this one pretty much immediately.

A hybrid should be a club you can depend on, that gets you out of trouble, and is fun to hit.  And the TSi3 checks all of those boxes.  Whatever you ask TSi3 to do, more times than not it positively exhilarates.

  1. Great review. Triple shot Jagerbomb! Good stuff. I just got this exact club to fill the gap between my 3-wood and 4 iron...I'm sure I'll find it to be very versatile. Can't wait to get it out on the course!
