Callaway Golf has officially announced that David Duval has joined their Professional Staff.
Duval will play Callaway Woods, Irons, a Callaway Chrome Soft Golf Ball, and an Odyssey Putter on the Champions Tour.
“I’ve been working hard on my game for almost a year now, I feel confident about where I’m at, and I’m looking forward to getting back out and competing. In the past I’ve never really been affiliated with one golf brand, and more recently I’ve been looking for a relationship with a company that feels like a family. That’s exactly what I’ve found with the Callaway Team, and I believe that they make the best, most consistent equipment in the game,” Duval said.
“I’ve always admired the quality of their products, and with the new golf ball alone I’ve picked up 3 mph ball speed, which has really made a difference for me. They have had so much success especially in recent years across the professional Tours, including the Champions Tour where they’re the most played brand. Joining Callaway is a natural fit for me, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.” Duval will make his Champions Tour debut this week in Hawaii, and this summer he will compete in the 150th Open at St. Andrew and at the British Senior Open in Gleneagles.
“We’re proud to welcome David to Callaway, and to add another major champion to our Professional Staff,” said Tim Reed, Sr. Vice President of Sports Marketing for Callaway Golf. “It’s such a pleasure to work with him, and to see how his game is progressing with our equipment in his bag. We’re excited to have him on our Tour Team, and to see how he performs with a full tournament schedule this year.”
Duval is a 13-time winner on the PGA TOUR, highlighted by his major championship triumph at The Open in 2001, his victory at the 1999 PLAYERS Championship, and his win at the 1997 TOUR Championship. He was also the #1 Ranked Player in the Official World Golf Rankings and carded an unforgettable final round 59 to win the 1999 Desert Classic in Palm Springs.
Duval adds to Callaway’s impressive momentum on Tours around the world. Among their highlights last year, World #1 Jon Rahm won the U.S. Open, Phil Mickelson made major history in his PGA Championship victory, Annika Sorenstam won the U.S. Senior Women’s Open, Xander Schauffele captured the Men’s Gold Medal in Tokyo, and 11 different Staff Professionals won on the PGA TOUR. Callaway continues to to be the #1 Driver Brand on major Tours worldwide. They’re the #1 Driver, Fairway Wood, Iron and Putter Brand on the Champions Tour and the LPGA Tour as well.
In addition to using Callaway and Odyssey equipment, Duval will wear TravisMathew apparel and footwear from Cuater by TravisMathew. Callaway Golf acquired TravisMathew in 2017. You can follow David on Twitter @david59duval and on Instagram @davidduval59.
