GOLFTEC, the world leader in golf improvement, congratulates Rose Zhang on her dramatic win at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur over the weekend. Zhang opened with record-setting rounds of 66 in round one, followed by 65 in round two. Zhang’s 76 in the final round at famed Augusta National Golf Club gave her a final total of 9-under 207, tying her with Georgia’s Jenny Bae. Zhang defeated Bae on the second hole of the sudden-death playoff by making a par on the par-4, 10th hole, earning her the championship.
This victory adds to her already impressive list of achievements, including winning the 2022 NCAA Division I Individual and Team Championship, the 2021 U.S. Girls’ Junior, and the 2020 U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Zhang, GOLFTEC’s newest Athlete, was recently featured in “Rose in Bloom,” a video showcasing her journey to becoming the #1 amateur in the world. Part of that journey includes her time as a GOLFTEC Student, where over the course of several lessons she honed her swing as a young junior player.
“We are thrilled to congratulate Rose on her impressive win at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur,” said Chris Kuebrich, GOLFTEC SVP Marketing. “Her talent, hard work, and dedication are an inspiration to all of us, and we are proud to have her as a GOLFTEC Athlete.”
Throughout the tournament, Zhang demonstrated the determination and perseverance that have made her such a dominant force in the sport. Her commitment to excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including being named the 2022 ANNIKA Award winner as the best player in college golf and the AJGA Rolex Player of the Year in both 2020 and 2021.
