Utilizing the all-new Srixon Z-STAR XV golf ball, Hideki Matsuyama kicked off the 2025 season in dominant fashion, securing his 11th PGA TOUR title with a victory at The Sentry.
Matsuyama displayed his exceptional ball control throughout the tournament, ranking top three in strokes gained approach, scrambling, and first in strokes gained overall. The Sentry, known for its elite field and course complexities, highlighted Matsuyama’s performance, including his accuracy, hitting over 87% of greens in regulation with the new ball.
Matsuyama finished the tournament at 35-under 257, the lowest 72-hole scoring record in a PGA TOUR event.
I knew Collin was going to play well, so I told myself I’m going to shoot 10-under and that was my mindset today. I was able to get a great offseason and get a fresh start this week, so I’m happy it was a great start this week.
This marks Matsuyama’s third win with the new Z-STAR XV, dating back to last season. The all-new Z-STAR XV is Srixon’s best distance performance golf ball in their tour offerings, giving players like Matsuyama maximum ball speed off the tee, controlled iron distance, and greenside control.
