The highly anticipated third season of the acclaimed Golf’s Greatest Holes TV series premieres today on NBC Sports Next’s GolfPass, featuring Motocaddy—the world’s leading electric caddy brand—throughout all six episodes.
The latest installment, the Open Special series, focuses exclusively on all 18 holes at Royal Portrush in preparation for The Open Championship’s return in July—marking the first time an entire season has been dedicated to a single course.
Co-presenters, winning 2014 Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley and 7-handicap TV presenter Chris Hollins, are joined on different holes by high-profile Irish personalities, including Darren Clarke, a local favourite, 2011 Champion Golfer, and Honorary Club Member, alongside Portrush resident, actor, and avid golfer James Nesbitt. Together, they showcase the latest Motocaddy models as they navigate the spectacular course, blending golf mastery with renowned local charm.
Motocaddy’s partnership with the series dates back three years to the inaugural season, which highlighted stunning courses across the island of Ireland. The collaboration continued with the second season, filmed in Portugal, featuring some of the country’s most breathtaking golf holes.
Filmed in stunning 4K ultra-high-definition with drone technology, the latest series captures the iconic Dunluce Links in unparalleled detail. Each episode showcases the latest Motocaddy electric caddy models, including the award-winning M5 GPS and M1 DHC. Already released in the UK and Ireland, the series will now be available on demand in the United States and Canada. Over the next four years, the show will be broadcast in more than 189 countries—including Europe, China, and Australia—through a network of 30+ international broadcasters, reaching over one billion households worldwide.
“We’re delighted to have been involved in Golf’s Greatest Holes from the very start and to see our award-winning caddies showcased on U.S. and Canadian TV screens on the popular NBC Sports Next’s GolfPass is fantastic for the brand,” said Motocaddy Marketing Director, Oliver Churcher. “This partnership highlights our commitment to enhancing the golfing experience with cutting-edge electric caddy technology. Seeing our products in action alongside some of the sport’s biggest names on one of the world’s most iconic courses is a proud moment for us. We’re excited to share the benefits of Motocaddy with a global audience and inspire more golfers to experience the game in a new way,” he added.
The M5 GPS combines Motocaddy’s cutting-edge touchscreen GPS technology with a sleek automotive-inspired design and a host of market-leading features, including the revolutionary CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT® cable-free Lithium battery technology that integrates into the stylish design seamlessly.
The lightweight battery incorporates a patented auto-disconnect technology that automatically powers off the caddy when folded, plus a revolutionary pop-up port for quick and easy charging – innovative functions exclusive to Motocaddy.
Additional features include game-enhancing full hole mapping through the responsive 3.5” touchscreen display to provide distances to the green, essential hazard information and the ability to dynamically move the target position for more accurate shot planning at over 40,000 courses across the world. Offering unrivaled connectivity, features include WiFi for super-fast updates and integrated Bluetooth® for smartphone notifications – including missed calls, texts, emails and apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook.
The M1 DHC is the world’s easiest-to-use electric caddy, thanks to its simple folding system with space-saving inverting wheels, impressive LCD widescreen display, nine speed settings and Adjustable Distance Control (up to 45-yards). It also includes the new CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT® battery technology, USB charging port, all-terrain tires, a speed indicator and battery meter, handle height adjustment, and a convenient auto-open stand for easy storage and transportation. Automatic downhill control (DHC) is also included, along with an electronic parking brake.
“To have a truly globally recognised brand in Motocaddy involved in the show is great, not just from an aesthetic point of view as they look amazing on screen, but also golfers can resonate with the show a lot more as we know millions of golfers around the world, and increasingly more and more North American golfers use electric caddies now,” said Hollins.
“I’m an avid caddy user anyway, but to see Paul and Darren navigate the beautiful Portrush links absolutely in awe of the game-changing features at their fingertips was amazing. I’m sure if they could use them on the PGA Tour Champions, they would!” he added.
