Miura Golf’s New PI-402 Irons Raise the Bar  in Player Distance Category

Miura Golf, manufacturer of the world’s most meticulously designed golf clubs, has introduced its newest iron, the PI-402. The advanced, innovative design from Miura’s craftsmen was created for players of all skill levels to help with launch, stability, ball speed consistency, and increased distance.

The PI-402 artfully blends contemporary distance with Miura’s timeless aesthetic and feel. It features a resilient 3mm Chromoly steel face, hot-rolled for elasticity, and consistent ball speed across the entire face. Coupled with 35g of tungsten, which is strategically positioned low behind the impact zone, the PI-402 delivers effortless launch and supreme stability.

In creating the PI-402, Miura held firm to its core principle that they will never introduce a new product unless it improves upon its predecessor. In comparison to the PI-401, the PI-402 features a more compact face length and increased heel height, resulting in a sophisticated, classic look at address not often seen in this category.

“Achieving greater distance is perhaps the most common goal of every golfer, which is why we designed the PI-402 to be effective for players of all skill levels,” said Anthony Newville, President, Miura Golf. “Every element of the PI-402 is designed to combine classic aesthetics with modern performance, showcasing Miura’s commitment to craftsmanship and precision engineering.”

Another defining feature of the PI-402 is the new Kissaki Sole. Drawing inspiration from the tip of a traditional Japanese sword known as “Kissaki”, the PI-402 has an advanced camber sole engineered to balance effective bounce through contact. With a maximum sole width of 22mm, it complements a wide range of swing paths and attack angles, enhancing forgiveness on off-center strikes.

“The idea behind the PI-402 is to pair resilient face material with low, purposeful weighting and a sole shape that is engineered to perform across a wide range of swing types,” said Kevin O’Connell, EVP, Sales & Strategy, Miura Golf. “The result is higher launch and added stability, all while preserving the refined feel and consistency expected from Miura.”

Miura has also introduced a TPU vibration control plate in the PI-402 which enhances sound and feel at impact while maintaining stability across the face, especially on mishits. The plate helps soften harsh vibrations and tunes the feedback a golfer receives, providing a connected and responsive feel with every strike.

“Evident in every detail of the PI-402 is Miura’s commitment to deliver an iron in the Players Distance category that maintains a refined look and feel,” said Hoyt McGarity, CEO & President of 8AM Golf. “Every PI-402 will be held to the enduring standard required to bear the Miura logo.”

The PI-402 irons are available in 4 to Pitching Wedge and Gap Wedge. For more information, visit www.miuragolf.com.
