Original Penguin Announces Rising Golf Star Carolina Chacarra as New Brand Ambassador

Original Penguin, a division of Perry Ellis International, proudly announces the signing of Carolina Chacarra as the brand’s newest golf ambassador.

One of the most exciting emerging talents in women’s golf, Chacarra brings a dynamic blend of international appeal, modern style, and rising success to the Original Penguin family as she begins her professional career.

Born in Madrid, Spain, Chacarra starred at Wake Forest University, where she quickly became one of the most recognized players in collegiate golf. During her decorated amateur career, she was named ACC Freshman of the Year in 2022, earned selections to the 2022 and 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup teams, captured the 2023 NCAA Championship title, and capped her senior season by receiving the 2025 Inkster Award, presented to the top-ranked NCAA senior.

“We are thrilled to welcome Carolina to the Original Penguin team,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International. “She represents a new generation of global golfers who bring personality, confidence, and a fresh sense of style to the game. Original Penguin has always been about blending heritage with modern expression, and Carolina embodies that spirit perfectly both on and off the course.”

Last season, Chacarra showcased her game on an even larger stage, finishing T36 at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open before officially turning professional and securing LPGA status through the LPGA Qualifying Series. In her professional debut, she recorded a T29 finish at the PIF Saudi Ladies International.

Chacarra will sport Original Penguin apparel throughout her 2026 campaign, showcasing the brand’s signature mix of heritage-inspired design, modern performance, and versatile style that transitions seamlessly from the course to everyday life.

She joins a roster of athletes who reflect the brand’s contemporary take on golf culture including Johnny Keefer, Nico Echavarria, Brian Campbell, Max McGreevy, and Kristoffer Reitan.

“I’m excited and proud to partner with Original Penguin as I take this next step in my career,” said Chacarra. “Original Penguin has such a cool mix of classic style and modern golf fashion. It’s a brand that feels just as natural off the course as it does on it, and I’m really looking forward to representing the Penguin.”

Original Penguin continues to expand its presence in women’s golf through partnerships with emerging stars and a growing lineup of performance apparel that blends classic heritage with contemporary design.

For over 70 years, Original Penguin, and its namesake icon Pete the Penguin, has been adorned and adored by the masters of leisure and sport to define itself as an American classic.  Known for blending modern performance with timeless style, Original Penguin continues to be a go-to brand for emerging talent and top professionals alike.

Today, the Penguin icon still stands as a signal for those who know how to be an original and what you wear for the good times.
