Titleist CNCPT Irons Preview: Two Unprecedented Designs Engineered to be the Finest Irons You Have Ever Played

For the Titleist Golf Club R&D team, CNCPT represents a challenge to redefine what's possible.  CNCPT is about removing obstacles, and providing their Advanced Research team the freedom to pursue manufacturing and material technologies the game has never seen regardless of cost. 

 

I showed you the CNCPT iron heads back at the PGA Merchandise Show in January, and told you a little bit about them.  And now CNCPT is a reality. 

CNCPT Clubs Brand Manager, Kelley Moser Jr., said.

Born from this mindset the new CNCPT CP-01 and CP-02 irons feature the thinnest, unsupported, constant-thickness face in golf, and are made possible only through the use of a rare, super strong alloy never before used in club manufacturing.  

 

 

A "Super Metal L-Face Insert" is measured and re-measured to ensure perfect uniformity, and produces ball speeds previously unforeseen off the face of an iron. 

The supreme speed of CP-01 and CP-02 irons is fortified by extraordinary amounts of high-density tungsten which make up nearly 50-percent of the total head weight in the lower lofts.  This produces higher launch, greater distance, and the most generous impact possible. 

The new CNCPT irons have been visually articulated with equal imagination to produce the world's most satisfying ball-striking experience.

Back at the PGA Show I thought the CNCPT 01 and 02 models had a mixed look between T-MB, and AP1 and AP3 heads.  They had wider soles but thinner top lines with moderate offset.  

I was told the hollow cavity injection made them extremely forgiving, and ball speed and distance gains were outrageous.  To say I'm excited to try these out would be a gigantic understatement.
