Is there anything in golf better than a great streak? Whether it's a birdie run up the leaderboard, holes played without a bogey, or even consecutive victories, everyone is always captivated by streaks and wants to see them continue or end.
Mitsubishi Golf has put a permanent stamp on golf history by piling up victories on all major Tours for decades. And this dominant shaft company is making headlines again. This week Mitsubishi captured wins on both the PGA and LPGA Tours, building its victory total since 2004 to 512.
In an nutshell, nothing stops the Mitsubishi train. Nothing.
Cameron Champ won the 3M Open today in Minnesota using a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White 75 shaft in his driver. Champ averaged almost 318 yards off the tee at TPC Twin Cities, and was nearly flawless over the weekend.
Champ has established himself as one of the best drivers in the world, not only hitting the ball a mile, but also shaping and flighting his ball at will. Champ has now won three times in 74 starts, making him only the 24th player since 1990 to win three times on Tour before the age of 27.
On the LPGA Tour Minjee Lee won The Evian Championship using a Mitsubishi Diamana DF shaft in her driver. Lee averaged 259 yards off the tee at the Evian Resort Golf Club and hit 10 of 13 fairways on Sunday, overcoming a seven shot, final round deficit to win her first major championship.
And all this comes on the heels of another remarkable week for Mitsubishi Golf. Mitsubishi also won the total driver shaft count at the 149th Open Championship, with 50 driver shafts in play, including a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 60 X shaft used by Champion Golfer of the Year Collin Morikawa.
Some say winning isn't everything. But since 2004 for Mitsubishi Golf, for the most part it's been the only thing.
