Wilson Sporting Goods Co., the club maker with more Major wins with its irons than any other brand, celebrates Padraig Harrington’s victory at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open held in Endicott, N.Y. at En-Joie Golf Club. This is Harrington’s second-straight win at the tournament.
“Winning the same tournament two years in a row is a feat that’s tough to come by, so we are thrilled to celebrate Padraig being the first player to ever defend his title successfully at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open,” said Bob Thurman, General Manager of Wilson Golf. “We’re proud to provide Padraig with the equipment that helped him claim his 37th career victory and we cannot wait to root for him next week as he looks to win his second-straight U.S. Senior Open.”
Harrington caught fire on the back nine of his final round, shooting an astonishing 7-under 28, earning the win by one stroke. The long-time Wilson ambassador birdied Nos. 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17, and added an eagle on No. 16 to get to a final score of 18-under-par at En-Joie Golf Club.
The relationship with Harrington, now in its 25th year, is the longest-running partnership between Chicago-based Wilson and its most successful Tour player of recent times, as this marks Harrington’s 37th professional win.
