You guys know how much I love Duca del Cosma and it sounds like Duca has a new fan in Jeannette. She calls her new Wildcats "super comfortable," and says she "can't wait to purchase a second pair!"
In her own words, here's what Jeannette thinks about her new Duca del Cosma golf shoes.
I have always loved the look of the Duca Del Cosma line of shoes and decided to try a pair of the Wildcat White model. I chose this particular model because I was looking for a modern-looking, waterproof shoe that would fit my practical style. I also needed a pair that had a wider toe box. Although I have to admit, there are so many other absolutely adorable models to suit spring, fall, and even winter play. Comfort was a must since I prefer to walk and carry my bag during my golf rounds.
The technology in the Wildcat is called the Airplay XII which is a recyclable, B-Light rubber outsole that features 2-way twist triangle nubs on the pivot points of the foot to ensure a firm posture with optimal grip, traction, and stability. The ARNEFLEX insert sole memory form is covered with OnSteam microfibre, and the heel support is made with recycled cork. The Wildcat uses weight within its design to increase traction while minimizing foot fatigue.
The only thing I found confusing was the sizing. I fluctuate between a 7.5 and 8 in shoes. Duca Del Cosma does not make a women's size 8 in many models. I called the company to confirm. The representative was courteous and helpful. They do have a size chart online which I found helpful. I ended up going a size up, to 8.5 based on their sizing chart information.
The shoes felt somewhat tight when I initially put it on. I elected to wear them around my house for a few days before I took them out onto the course. I found that over those days, the shoes stretched, giving me the room I needed. I would say the shoes runs small, so I would recommend using the size chart measuring your foot as instructed, but ordering a 1/2 size up!
My shoes arrived quickly and came beautifully packaged. They looked just as advertised as well. The Wildcat white came with white laces, but a second pair of laces in black were sent along with a shoe bag. I like that I can tailor my style with the extra set of laces. One thing I noticed right away was that they felt heavier than my other FJ golf shoes.
I wore my new Wildcats on the course for the first time and I was pleased in every way! They needed minimal break-in time. My feet molded well with the memory form cushion and I found them to be very comfortable. There was also ample arch support.
Because they felt heavier than my other shoes, I was worried that it might pose an issue since I mostly walk my golf rounds. I walked 18 holes without fatigue. The weight was a complete non-factor.
It was a hot, humid day, but my feet did not feel too hot during the round either. When I left in the morning, the grass was still wet from the rain from the evening before so I also got to test the waterproof ability. My feet were kept completely dry.
The spikes on the soles of the shoes allowed for very good traction when walking. I also found the shoes to be flexible. It is difficult to see from my picture, but the bottom of the shoe has a circular spiked area at the top by the toes. This was very helpful with the swing rotation, giving my knees a break, and making the swing transition feel effortless!
I appreciate the craftsmanship of this stylish Duca Del Cosma Wildcat shoe. The shoes are made very well and I found them to be super comfortable. The customer service was also exceptional. I can't wait to purchase a second pair of Duca Del Cosma!
