Rivers Edge Golf Club Named 2023 Golf Course of the Year by Myrtle beach Golf Course Owners Association

Rivers Edge Golf Club, designed by Arnold Palmer and established in 1999, has been honored with the title of 2023 Golf Course of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association (MBAGCOA).

Positioned along the Shallotte River, Rivers Edge has earned recognition as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses” by Golf Digest. It has consistently been acknowledged as a significant achievement in Arnold Palmer’s design portfolio and enjoys favor among golf enthusiasts.

Notably, Rivers Edge boasts seven holes that align with the river’s marshy waters, with the par-5 ninth hole being a distinct challenge, featuring a peninsula green surrounded by water. The course also offers a memorable closing stretch along the river, adding diversity to the golfing experience.

In addition to its scenic attributes, Rivers Edge is esteemed for its meticulous design, rigorously testing every aspect of a golfer’s skill. It has consistently been recognized as one of the top courses in Brunswick County and North Carolina.

East Coast Golf Management has overseen operations at Rivers Edge since 2011, demonstrating a blend of experience and innovation that has contributed to the course’s success.

Rivers Edge’s commitment to maintaining its high standards is exemplified through a recent multi-stage renovation project.

Beyond its golfing prestige, Rivers Edge actively engages with the community, hosting events and supporting charitable organizations. Notably, it supports Gene’s Dream Foundation, an initiative founded by Kelly Tilghman and Charlie Rymer from the Golf Channel, which introduces children to mentors within the community through golf.

The course also participates in the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association and Golf Tourism Solutions.

Rivers Edge further contributes to philanthropic causes by hosting Patriot Golf Day, a 100-hole marathon raising funds for Folds of Honor to assist the families of fallen or wounded American service members. The club also supports Operation North State, Genes Dream Foundation, and Project Golf.

Rivers Edge remains committed to enhancing both the sport and the Grand Strand community through its various endeavors.
