Williams was on the bag for Tiger in 13 of his 15 majors, and most recently helped Adam Scott become the first Australian to win The Masters at Augusta National. Day is hoping Williams can help him finally emerge victorious at a U.S. Open, where he's twice finished runner-up.
Day's swing coach Colin Swatton said,
"Steve is probably the most prolific caddie golf has seen in helping a player win at the highest level. He has caddied for three world No.1 players, and I think the biggest thing is the confidence Jason will have in knowing the guy standing next to him has stayed calm in the big moments."
There's no word yet if this move is permanent. However, with Williams credentials and impeccable record, you have to believe this could be a long-term relationship if Day performs well in the Pebble pressure cooker next week.
