In celebration of the Open Championship, COBRA GOLF has created a limited-edition staff bag that embodies the essence of the city of Liverpool. The logo on the side of the bag resembles the Liverpool city sign, which players and fans will be greeted with when they arrive in the birthplace of the Beatles. The red and white stripes on each side represent the barbershop from Penny Lane and Crown Jewels and the British Monarchy are represented on the base of the bag.
As an extra touch, the inside lining of the bag boasts imagery of the iconic, double-sided clock at the Royal Liverpool clubhouse. The fun feature to look for are the headcovers Cobra players will use at Royal Liverpool, each of which is designed to mimic the outfits the Beatles wore on the cover of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
“The Open Championship showcases the tradition and rich history of golf,” said Markus McCaine, Marketing Director, Cobra Golf. “Our goal was to utilize symbols from the historic city and rich musical heritage that originated in Liverpool. As the majors come to a close, we wanted to release one more bag that celebrates the oldest and most storied championship in golf and our players are excited to carry that with them this week.”
Though the staff bag will only be available to players in the field, a limited-edition Open Championship Stand Bag ($650) with all the same features will be available to consumers at retail and at cobragolf.com starting today. For more information, please visit www.cobragolf.com.
