COBRA Golf®, a leader in golf club innovation and 3D printing technology, announced a re-release of the innovative and massively successful LIMIT3D irons, the first commercially available 3D printed irons in golf.
Due to incredibly high demand for this revolutionary iron set, with the first run of 500 limited-edition sets being sold out in a matter of minutes, COBRA will be offering a second release of these irons providing more players the opportunity to play the most advanced irons on the market.
“The feedback from consumers, fitters and retailers on the look, feel and performance of the LIMIT3D irons has been remarkable,” said Mike Yagley, Vice President of Innovation & AI, COBRA Golf. “They were originally meant to be a one-time limited-edition run with an effort to get them to market as quickly as possible. We decided we had to make a second production batch to give more golfers access to this innovative technology.”
The bulk of the new run of the LIMIT3D irons will be available for order on CobraGolf.com, with additional sets available at select retailers and premium custom fit partners, exclusively in the US. This re-release of LIMIT3D will be the same production series construction as designed by COBRA engineers using nTop’s software and manufactured with 3D printing technology, although will not come with the limited-edition markings, commemorative box or 3DP divot tool.
“Our LIMIT3D 3D printed irons represent COBRA’s dedication to pushing performance and technology to the limits,” said Jose Miraflor, Vice President of Product Architecture, COBRA Golf. “One of the key advantages of this new technology is the ability to fine-tune product development and repeat the production process with 100% consistency on demand in a relatively short time in comparison with traditional casting and forging methods. This is why we can offer more of the LIMIT3D irons so quickly after selling out the firstlimited-edition batch.”
The mission in designing the LIMIT3D irons was to create the look and feel of a compact blade with the forgiveness of a game-improvement model. The fully 3D printed stainless steel body of the irons feature an innovative internal lattice structure that allows 33% of the overall clubhead weight to be repositioned without sacrificing strength. Specifically, 100g of tungsten is placed in the heel and toe areas of the clubhead, creating a low CG and an exceptionally high moment of inertia relative to the size and shape of the club. The result is a compact blade with a low CG, very high forgiveness, precisionand distance comparable to a player’s distance model.
MSRP for the LIMIT3D irons is $3,000 for 4-PW set configurations in RH only with a wide selection of aftermarket steel and graphite shafts, and grips. Available on Friday, August 16th.
