At the season’s fourth Major in Portrush, Fujikura remains the choice of champions, with the winner putting faith in VENTUS to claim a dominant victory over the famous links layout in Northern Ireland.
It was the second Major victory of the year for our winner, and confirmed the position of Fujikura as the global leader in performance shaft innovation as history was made with all four Major Champions in 2025 using VENTUS shafts in their driver.
Fujikura’s journey to making history began in April, with the Champion of the season’s first Major in Augusta, Georgia, showcasing the ultimate levels of control from the tee and fairway. In May, the VENTUS line was on hand to support the winner of the 107th Championship at Quail Hollow Club in South Carolina, in what was one of the most dominant long-game displays of the year.
And at Oakmont for the season’s third Major, Fujikura was once again trusted as the number one performance golf shaft, with the brand’s flagship VENTUS line helping to drive the eventual champion to victory across the iconic Pennsylvania layout. It was a tournament that will be remembered for the winner producing one of the drives of the year under the most intense pressure to help close out the victory.
All three Major winners in 2025 have put faith in the VENTUS line to maximize clubhead stability and promote consistent center-face contact, which in turn translates to tighter dispersion and greater control from the tee and fairway.
The winner in Portrush – playing with great composure and confidence – proved dominant in holding off a world-class field, utilizing the power and consistency in their long game by using a VENTUS Black 7-X in their driver, along with the VENTUS Black 8-X in their 3-wood.
WHAT’S IN THE WINNER’S BAG
The 2025 Major Championship at Portrush demanded the very best in power and accuracy, with the course’s narrow fairways pinched tight by punishing and penal rough, and greens protected by devilish pot-bunkers. Ultimately, an ability to control the trajectory of the ball from the tee – as well as being able to attack the par 5s with confidence from the fairway – ensured the winner remained in control over the closing two rounds after topping the leaderboard following Friday’s second round.
Fujikura also backed up its position as the most used driver and wood shaft among the world’s best players with an impressive 43.9% of the field in Northern Ireland choosing the brand’s shafts in their driver (69 out of 157), with 39.3% of players trusting Fujikura in their wood shafts.
