I do want to touch on a few things about Armstrong here quickly (and really Arthur as well, though I'll get to a dedicated pants section more below).  Galvin Green's Gore-Tex Paclite is cutting edge and many will say the best in the business.

 

Both the Armstrong jacket and Arthur pants are designed using Gore-Tex Paclite and this material along with Galvin Green's unique manufacturing process has really created a new class of rain gear.  Gore-Tex Pacliteis extremely lightweight, breathable, and packable without sacrificing any rain-proofing.  And the waterproofing happens at a molecular level which means Galvin Green Gore-Tex Paclite keeps even the smallest water droplets out but lets your body perspiration through.  You stay dry on the outside and inside.

 

The Gore-Tex Paclite benefits don't stop at merely keeping you dry in any conditions.  This material is also designed to be softer and with more stretch for greater comfort and mobility.  I'm talking about a completely unrestricted swing with the Armstrong jacket and Arthur pants.  Galvin Green comfort and movement is every bit as impressive as it's water-proofing.  And Gore-Tex Paclite pretty much has all the performance, comfort, and functionality you could possibly want in rain gear.

Now let's touch on the Arthur pants a bit and bring this baby home.  The Arthur Gore-Tex rain pants are again completely waterproof and extremely breathable.  Honestly I haven't worn any Galvin Green Gore-Tex jackets or rain pants that didn't didn't perform extremely well in the wet stuff, but Arthur (and the Armstrong jacket) take even Galvin Green's already incredibly high standard to another level.

Arthur is flexible like the Armstrong jacket, and has an elastic waist and drawstring (along with an adjustable leg width) to make these pants look at fitted or loose as you want.  And like every Galvin Green rain pant I've ever worn, the two front pockets are fleece lined, which feels great and helps warm up your hands.

 

As mentioned the Arthur pants also use Galvin Green's Gore-Tex Paclite technology.  And it bears repeating, you will not find a lighter Gore-Tex material anywhere.  Simple as that.  And if super light fabric is your thing, there's a high probability Arthur will become your favorite rain pants.  Maybe ever.
