FootJoy ThermoSeries Layering Apparel Review: 2022 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 6

If you can't escape the winter chill, FootJoy wants you to at least be able to neutralize it.  So say hello to the new 2022 FootJoy ThermoSeries apparel layering system.  Well actually, say hello to it again.  I already reviewed every piece in this cold weather line for you earlier this year.  And now one of you is going to win your own ThermoSeries 3-piece outfit.

You can choose three (3) pieces in any color and size from this advanced layering collection which includes a ThermoSeries Hybrid Jacket, Vest, Mid-Layer, Base-Layer, and Pants.  I found all pieces to be extremely high quality with top marks for warmth, comfort, and movement.

Every piece in the FJ ThermoSeries line is designed with fabrics that were selected for their incredible thermal properties, and I can completely attest to that.  All the apparel was also made to move without restriction, and this holds true no matter how many layers you're wearing at the same time (even all of them at once as you saw in my video review).  So here's a quick refresher on each layering piece in the collection.

The FJ ThermoSeries Hybrid Jacket is wind and water repellant and holds body warmth in remarkably well.  I wore this jacket for the first time at Inverness Club on a day when temps dropped into the low 40's and winds were whipping and howling so real feel was even colder.  I was perfectly warm and comfortable.  A big and serious test for this jacket, and it passed with the proverbial flying colors.  The Hybrid Jacket also has great stretch in the arms and the body area is quilted for even more body warmth.  Full zip, a chest pocket that's big enough to be useful, and two side, hand pockets.

 

Another outer layering option is the FJ ThermoSeries Vest.  This is also quilted and I found it to be even more insulated and warming in the body area than the jacket.  The back middle of the vest had a flexible strip running down the middle which allows maximum and full movement during your swing.  This is a vest that speaks the language of golf.  Also a full zip like the jacket with two side pockets for your hands and anything else.

 

Tighter fitting than the jacket and vest with compression-like properties, the FJ ThermoSeries Mid-Layer is extremely breathable.  It has warming properties but not the same kind of insulation you get with the quilted jacket and vest.  Half-zip, no pockets, and excellent stretchability, this one can stand out on its own and is incredibly versatile.

 

The FJ ThermoSeries Base-Layer is your main compression piece and the lightest, most stretchable piece in the collection.  It does a great job allowing moisture to leave your body while also retaining that first line of warming defense against the cold.  Also some pretty cool FJ logos on the back neck and left arm above the wrist.

 

Suedey soft, incredibly warm, and a very stretchable, flattering cut.  That's how I'd best describe the FJ ThermoSeries pants in a nutshell.  The feel is almost like a brushed moleskin, but still very lightweight.  And I can't exaggerate how warm they are, almost like they have a built in seat warmer.  Also water repellant.
