LA Golf introduced two new putter models and customization options at the 2023 PGA Show as demand for their unique (and high-priced) carbon composite putters continues trending upward.
Bel Air is the new blade model and Malibu the new mallet, and LA Golf told me they've increased MOI with both models to even higher levels than before.
The new Bel Air and Malibu carbon fiber bodies are extremely lightweight (50 grams) which allows for enormous (and greater) discretionary tungsten weight positioning in the heel and toe. Malibu has an insanely high 6800 MOI yet it maintains the same overall weight as the original blade (360 grams).
A 303 SS DLT (descending loft technology) face returns on both models for consistent launch and roll no matter how you come into the ball at impact. And LA Golf's carbon composite shaft is four times the stiffness of a steel shaft (and also lighter) to decrease vibration and increase stability at impact.
I rolled both the Bel Air and Malibu putters for a little bit and can confirm they feel even more stable and solid than the originals. The new Bel Air appears to be slightly shorter heel to toe than the original, but it's still a big blade putter by any comparison.
LA Golf has also introduced two new premium finishes with the Bel Air and Malibu, designated with an "X" on these models. The X models have a more profound and elaborate raw carbon appearance, and LA Golf told me durability tests ensure the finishes are also long lasting.
Weight kit options (with 70 and 90 gram weights) are now available to decrease or increase head weight to your liking. And new color customization options let you personalize just about every aspect of your putter (with up to 10 different color choices to change things like neck color, face color, back cavity logo, sightline, and more).
You'll have to shell out the big bucks for these putters, but you'll be getting what LA Golf says are the most forgiving, stable, and consistently accurate putters on the market today.
