Water Oak Country Club and Estates, a Sun Communities destination, has opened its newly renovated golf course to community residents and the public. The course recently received USGA accreditation as a championship course and is part of a larger multi-million-dollar revitalization project for the 55+ living community.
Water Oak Country Club and Estates is an active residential community with more than 1,300 homes and resort-style amenities such as the new championship golf course, community swimming pools, clubhouses and various outdoor activities. The community recently announced the expansion of the property with an additional 267 homes available for residents seeking a fun and active lifestyle.
The Water Oak Country Club golf course was designed by Sanford Ferris Golf Designs and highlights the site’s unique characteristics, incorporating dozens of mature oak trees, rolling hills and bodies of water into the course. The Par 70 course was developed to honor the existing land and features 70 feet of vertical change and a 6,100-yard layout perfect for golfers of any skill level.
“As the beautiful game of golf is shared across generations, we look forward to how our newly renovated golf course can be a point of connection for Water Oak Country Club and Estates residents,” said Bob Cooke, director of golf. “The course’s natural beauty and emphasis on accessibility provide the perfect opportunity for golfers of all ages and expertise to come together for a game of golf with friends, family or fellow residents.”
Water Oak Country Club and Estates invites the community to join them to celebrate the course’s reopening on February 22. At the Grand Opening event, visitors can get an exclusive first look at the course while enjoying small appetizers, tours of the community and more! The event will last from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
