Galvin Green Leonard Interface-1 Jacket Review: 2023 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 5

I make no secret about the extremely high regard I have for Galvin Green.  Their apparel is simply a cut above.  And I know for a fact every fabric used, every material designed, every decision Galvin Green makes is carefully weighted after appraising all options down to the very last detail.

Galvin Green is a company devoted to golf with a commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries of product quality.  Their driving purpose is to give you, me, every golfer the absolute best apparel for all conditions we play in.  And I can tell you the new Galvin Green Leonard Interface-1 Jacket we're giving away for DAY 5 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway is  marvelous in every possible way.  You're getting an all-weather outright gem in Leonard.

As a quick refresher on Galvin Green's Layering Concept you have base layers like their Skintight Thermal wear.  You have warm layers like their Insula pieces.  And you have shell layers like this Leonard Interface-1 jacket.  For most of the rounds of golf you play the Galvin Green Interface-1 jackets are going to be everything you need.  In a nutshell Leonard is soft, smooth, and stretchable, highly breathable, and also completely windproof and water repellent.

When you need to keep wind chills at bay Leonard is a Fort Knox of wind protection.  In addition to being one of Galvin Green's highest-rated Inerface-1 warming effect jackets, Leonard also uses insulated padding over a large area in the front and back of the jacket so you can even play on those brutally cold days.

The very fine fibers Galvin Green uses in this Leonard jacket traps in an extremely high amount of air to keep you toasty warm.  But the technology used also allows for a breathability that releases a lot of moisture.  This is Galvin Green textile chemistry that's way above my pay grade.  But in simple terms I just know it's what allows Leonard to keep you comfortably both warm and dry.

As mentioned above Leonard is also remarkably stretchable.  And this of course allows for a completely unrestricted swing.  You don't get this kind of freedom with bulkier golf jackets or even lightweight ones without stretch.  This also contributes to the overall comfort you feel even just strolling up and down the fairways.  Other practical but more subtle features include elastic ribbed cuffs and a drawstring at the hem which augments warmth retention.  And I'm always a fan of two front pockets.

Leonard is water-resistant which is not the same thing as waterproof.  So if you're playing in drizzle or light showers the rain will bead up and bounce off Leonard just like it does on a newly waxed car.  You'll be protected in weather like this.

When the conditions call for or change to torrential rains however Leonard will not protect you like Galvin Green' legendary Gore-Tex jackets.  The jackets in the Gore-Tex range would keep a fish swimming in the ocean dry.  With that said, according to Galvin Green for 95 out of any 100 rounds you play their Interface-1 jackets will deliver superior performance  and everything you need.  I'd have to agree.

I've played in various Galvin Green Interface-1 jackets over the years where winds surpassed 30 mph and and rain was steady but not strong.  While these jackets didn't necessarily make bad weather my favorite weather to play in, they did make it more fun than ever to take on the elements.  And the new Leonard jacket is the latest champion in Galvin Green's Interface-1 dynasty.  Head on over to the Galvin Green website here to see what color and size combinations are available and choose whatever you like!

Remember you always have three different ways to win the daily gifts in my giveaway this year.  On X/Twitter just repost my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram repost or mention in your story, like, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway, Jingle Bam, Letters from Santa, Jingle Bam Bigger, and Flash Kringle Gonna Kringle articles.
