Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Ball Review: 2023 PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway DAY 2

Telling you the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x are great golf balls is like telling you Christmas is the best holiday.  Everyone knows this.  The name Titleist name is a standard of excellence.  And Pro V1 and Pro V1x are used my more pros and more golfers overall than any other golf ball.  Anyone who's ever picked up a golf club has likely played a Titleist ball.

I joked with friends this year that Titleist must be controlling my ball with some kind of NASA satellites because shot after shot after shot my ball performance was sensationally exact.  And to kick off DAY 2 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas one of you will win TWO Dozen Pro V1 or Pro V1x Performance Alignment balls (red and green colors for Christmas of course, but you can also choose black and blue colors if you like as well).

I know you guys love your Titleist balls.  And maybe even more, the PGAPappas logo Titleist balls.  We gave away 28 sleeves of these logo balls during my Play With Pete Invitational from Scioto Country Club back in August.  Should we do it again for 12 Days?

For DAY 2 however I'm going  to touch briefly on a few similarities and differences between Pro V1 and Pro V1x to help you decide which is best for you.  For me it's the Pro V1x.  And I can tell you in a nutshell when you choose the right Titleist ball for your game it's pure magic.  And this Titleist Golf Ball Selector and Fitting Tool is also worthwhile to check out.

Pro V1x flies higher than Pro V1 and even a tad higher than the previous Pro V1x model.  This is great for a low ball hitter like me who can lose out on maximum carry distance.  And speaking of distance both Pro V1 and Pro V1x are longer than previous models, yet surprisingly both also feel softer off all clubs.  There's still a difference in feel to distinguish them however.

I found both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x to have excellent stopping power 100 yards and in.  Previous models I've always had more spin with Pro V1x in the short game.  Honestly though with these newest balls short game precision and spin seems almost identical.  It's really only on mid and long iron full shots that I saw more bite into greens compared to Pro V1.  And this is ultimately what tips the scales towards Pro V1x for me.  I can be as aggressive as I want attacking pins with these irons (and hybrids) and results give me more predictable, consistent, and better results.

Pro V1 is probably a longer ball for me off the tee than Pro V1x with more roll out (I have a neutral angle of attack with driver).  And of course any distance advantage is a good advantage.  But it's not enough gain to give up that Pro V1x control with my irons.  If you hit shots to high or with too much spin however Pro V1 can be your champion.

The Pro V1 and Pro V1x Performance Alignment balls you'll be receiving are apparently even more popular than standard Pro V1 and Pro V1x because they're sold out on the Titleist website.  Designed with a subtle arrow shape in black, blue, red, and green colors, the marking is custom printed on each golf ball opposite the Pro V1 or Pro V1x side stamp and 60-percent longer than the side stamp.

Remember you always have three different ways to win the daily gifts in my giveaway this year.  On X/Twitter just repost my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram repost or mention in your story, like, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway, Jingle Bam, Letters from Santa, Jingle Bam Bigger, and Flash Kringle Gonna Kringle articles.

These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season.  And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.

Merry Christmas all!

  9. A couple of dozen Pro V1s would be amazing Pete! I'd definitely go with the Green and Red Christmas theme, and spread that Christmas spirit into the woods, rough, and ponds at golf courses all over the area.

    1. Like I mentioned in article was surprised I liked the lines so much. Don't know if they studied or surveyed how to design it, width, length, all that but just nailed it yeah.
