PGA TOUR star Abraham Ancer and LPGA major winner Yuka Saso officially joined Callaway Golf as Staff Professionals.
Ancer will play Callaway Woods, an Odyssey Putter, and will wear a Callaway hat in competition. He has been one of the top players in the world over the past several years. In 2021, he earned his first PGA TOUR win at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational and finished 9th in the FedEx Cup Standings, all while using a Callaway Epic Speed Driver and an Odyssey Putter. The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced the U.S. Adaptive Open Championship, a new national championship that will showcase the world’s best golfers with disabilities. The inaugural competition will be conducted on Course No. 6 at historic Pinehurst Resort & Country Club on July 18-20, 2022. The 2nd U.S. Adaptive Open will also be held on Pinehurst No. 6, and will be conducted from July 17-19, 2023.
The U.S. Adaptive Open Championship will serve as the association’s 15th national championship, joining such iconic events as the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur. Champions of this new event will see their names recorded in the annals of golf history alongside many of the game’s storied figures.
Golf’s governing bodies have made available a Model Local Rule (MLR) to further limit the use of Green-Reading Materials.
MLR G-11 enables a committee to limit players to using only the yardage book that it has approved for use in the competition.
The USGA Nominating Committee has released its proposed slate of 2022 Executive Committee members and officers. The Executive Committee will again be led by Stu Francis of Hillsborough, Calif., who will be serving the final year of his three-year term as USGA president, and by Fred Perpall of Dallas, Texas, who has been nominated to serve as president-elect.
In addition, Sinclair Eaddy Jr., of Baltimore, Md., and Kevin Hammer of Boynton Beach, Fla., have each been nominated to serve a three-year term on the USGA Executive Committee, a volunteer group of 15 people that provides strategic and financial oversight as the Association’s policy-making and governance board.

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced that Inverness Club, in Toledo, Ohio, will host the 129th U.S. Amateur Championship. The dates of the championship are Aug. 13-19, 2029. The stroke play co-host course will be named at a later date.
“The growth of the U.S. Amateur over the last 100 years has been phenomenal, and earlier this year we saw near record-high entries for the championship,” said John Bodenhamer, senior managing director, Championships. “Part of that growth is a commitment by the USGA to take the championship to the best courses in the country, and Inverness is certainly among that group. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them with another U.S. Amateur.”
