I knew Santa and Arnold Palmer were friends. Crazy thing is with all the stories he's told me about their friendship he never told me how they met. Until tonight. Santa also shared something about The King that I never heard anywhere before. Suffice to say AP had some Kringle in him for sure. I'll let Santa tell you all about it in his letter below.
How this all relates is Arnie was the one who got Santa hooked on Original Penguin. And Santa was pretty impressed with the new OP golf gear I showed you a few months back. So for DAY 9 of my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway we're including the OP Golf Insulated Mixed Media Full Zip Jacket, AND your choice of either the new OP 19th Hole Golf Print polo or new OP Allover Pete Print Golf polo. You can choose sizes S, M, L, XL, or XXL.
First, here's Santa's actual letter to me.
I love the Original Penguin brand because it's really defined the way we dress today. It's timeless and it's cool. You might even say OP is OG. And this new OP Golf Collection is true to OP's retro roots, while still looking contemporary and feeling fantastic both on and of the course.
So back to the gear. To state the obvious, the new Golf Insulated Mixed Media Full Zip Jacket looks freaking awesome. Clean, strong stitching over the shoulders, through the chest, even around the pockets and hem give the hoodie maximum comfort and functionality. This is really well made.
It's quilted in the front, back, and arms but also has stretch panels in the backs of the arms for fantastic freedom of movement. And the material is substantial to keep you warm, but not heavy to feel bulky. It's breathable. You can take this to the course, out on the weekend for dinner and drinks, and probably even out to watch a late season NFL football game.
And of course there's the awesome of Pete the Penguin logo on the chest and smaller floating Pete the Penguin logos lining the inside of the jacket as well.
The new new Original Penguin 19th Hole Golf Print and Allover Pete Print Golf polos are Original Penguin again proving functional can look fantastic too.
These are both two of the most breathable polos I've ever worn and the four-way stretch is absolutely perfect. It moves with your body naturally so there's no need to fuss with arms or shoulders or chest areas. You're truly getting maximum freedom of movement with the 19th Hole and Allover Pete polos.
And the designs themselves? I'll let the pictures do the talking because both prints are incredibly fun, especially cool, and fabulously unique.
On X/Twitter just repost my giveaway announcement and follow all; on Instagram repost or mention in your story, like, and follow all; and here on my blog leave a comment in the section below in the daily review/giveaway, Jingle Bam, Letters from Santa, Jingle Bam Bigger, Santa Dared Me, and Kringle Gonna Kringle, and Santa Said Do It articles.
These gifts are great prizes of course, but also some of the best equipment and gear in their class that I played and reviewed this season. And I hope these mini reviews and recaps give you an idea of why I rate them so highly.
Merry Christmas all! And here's Santa's letter to me again.
Heybuddy great job yesterday. Didn’t know if you had it in you. You’re crushing all of 12 Days to be honest and everyone is having a crazy fun time. Life lived well, what it’s all about. Reminds me, did I ever tell you how I met Arnold Palmer? It wasn’t Christmas or even golf that brought us together. It was our mutual love of aviation.
I remember like it was yesterday, we were at some Latrobe local airport auction. We both had our eyes on a beauty of a G5, two Rolls Royce turbofan engines, interior loaded with everything that makes it a gold standard in luxury aviation. Well Arnie opened with a big bid. And that strong forearm of his piercing the air with that paddle was a little intimidating. After I raised his opening bid 25-percent we made eye contact. And it was game on. The back-and-forth was the stuff of those classic Federer v. Nadal rallies at Wimbledon. Arnie won the auction. We bid that G5 up five times its value. And like that our friendship was born.
Arnie taught me a lot of what I know about golf. He always told me I have the second best Palmer-esque finish in the world. And I taught AP quite a bit about flying. In fact, most people don’t know this but any year Arnie won a major I gave him the reins to the sleigh on Christmas Eve. By the time he won his fourth major he was already breaking my Christmas speed and efficiency records. A natural born talent he was.
The King also rubbed off on me with his impeccable taste and style always dressed in Original Penguin. AP was one of one. And he’s the reason I’m such a big fan of Original Penguin. OP is iconic and versatile with maximum comfort and functionality on and off the course. I know you’re also an Original Penguin fan. How can you of all people not love Pete the Penguin? I saw you added some new OP pieces earlier this year and today seems like a perfect time to bust those out in DAY 9 of your PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas Golf Giveaway.
So let’s go big and include the new OP Golf Insulated Mixed Media Full Zip Jacket, and a choice of either the new OP 19th Hole Golf Print polo or new OP Allover Pete Print Golf polo. All around good as it gets.
You watching Indiana vs. Notre Dame tonight? Didn’t wanna bring up the CFP after your Buckeyes got dunked by Michigan. Again. I respect your commitment to OSU (and even more so the Browns) after heartbreak year-in and year-out. Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom my friend.
Stay true,
Nick
