For as long as I can remember anytime I'm on the course and take a peek at other players bags invariably the shaft I see most often with their drivers is a Fujikura. Fujikura is a dynasty on Tour dominating year in and year out, like this year where half of all PGA Tour events were won my a player using a Fujikura driver shaft. And of course you already know I consider Fujikura Ventus shafts to be like video game cheat codes.
Fujikura's new Ventus VeloCore+ is the ultimate evolution to one of their best performing shafts in history so you're going to get to choose ANY Ventus Velocore+ shaft (Red, Blue, or Black in any weight and flex) in my PGAPappas 12 Days of Christmas JingleBAM Day 9 Giveaway. I'll see what I can do to get it cut and gripped for whatever driver you want. And we're also including a very cool Fujikura Bug Driver headcover because Kringle Gonna Kringle baby!
I've already told you all about my Ventus VeloCore+ Blue shaft but I'm going to break down the differences between Red, Blue, and Black for you here a bit to help your choice. I'm also going to touch a little bit on what VeloCore+ tech is and how it's evolved from VeloCore. And finally wrap it all up with a few comparisons between Ventus VeloCore+ and Ventus TR.
The Ventus VeloCore+ Red is designed for golfers seeking a mid-high launch and mid spin profile. Ideal for players who desire a higher ball flight with ultimate stability, the Red incorporates Fujikura's cutting-edge VeloCore+ technology, offering a further evolution of performance and design (will touch on that in the next section.
The premium bias core material construction promotes greater energy transfer, resulting in enhanced ball speeds and distance, while still maintaining the accuracy and control golfers expect from a Ventus shaft.
The Ventus VeloCore+ Blue is a mid-launch/low spin wood shaft that has been re-engineered with updated materials and technology for improved feel, consistency, and speed for all golfers.
From Tour players to amateur golfers, player feedback has shown that VeloCore+ technology has provided immediate improvements for players seeking gains in areas like ball speed and dispersion.
And the Ventus VeloCore+ Black is primarily for golfers with faster swing speeds looking for a low launch and low spin profile. Black offers golfers unparalleled stability and control, helping achieve a more penetrating ball flight with increased ball speeds.
Like the Red and Blue shafts, the Black also incorporates Fujikura's innovative VeloCore+ Technology, ensuring exceptional performance benefits in stability and consistency.
What is VeloCore+ Technology
The original VeloCore technology was Fujikura’s ground-breaking shaft stability technology introduced in 2018 with Ventus, and then later Ventus TR, and Axiom and helps deliver exceptional club stability through transition and impact. The technology promotes consistent center-face contact, tightening dispersion and increasing control.
Fujikura’s engineers are like a team of Tony Starks and continued to innovate and developed this new enhanced technology in the VeloCore+. VeloCore+ features a re-engineered multi-material bias core that enhances the feel and performance.
And with an additional premium bias core material VeloCore+ promotes even tighter dispersion and increased ball speeds. Increased speed, accuracy, and distance have been proven in player testing while still retaining the same original Ventus profile. In my testing VeloCore+ did have a few MPH increase in ball speed and I'll take every extra few yards I can get. But the biggest difference was seeing 4-5 yards better left-to-right dispersion with Ventus VeloCore+.
Ventus VeloCore+ vs. Ventus TR
First off let me say these two shafts don't compete with each other, the compliment each other. And for me the immediate difference between Ventus VeloCore+ and Ventus TR is feel. The TR feels just a tad stiffer and stouter. I feel more load into the ball with VeloCore+.
In terms of performance there isn't a night and day difference for me between Ventus VeloCore+ Blue and Ventus TR Blue. But it's substantial enough for all these shafts to co-exist and warrant different player choice for ideal performance. With the same driver head VeloCore+ was about 5 yards higher ball flight (something that's beneficial for me). There was maybe 100rpm more spin with VeloCore+. Dispersion was very similar left-to-right, but I had slightly better downrange dispersion with VeloCore+. I also had less variance in ball speeds with VeloCore+ compared to TR (something I attribute to the softer feel and more pronounced load being better for my swing).

ReplyDeleteVery nice
ReplyDeleteShaft is worth more than what I paid for my driver!
ReplyDelete#JingleBAM Pete! A Ventus Velocore+ driver shaft sounds like it would be a great addition to my arsenal, and that head cover looks really cool too. Not sure which I'd take, Red or Blue, in general both profiles can work for me, although I do tend more towards the higher launching Reds. It sure would be a fun decision to make though.
